There is a
lot that happens in the process of designing architecture. A
lot of talk, interpretations, sketches, drawings, iterations.
BIM or
Building Information Modelling happens only in
the final stages of the design process. BIM may also be effective
during construction (that too, during some types of construction. Not all)
We at the AIM network believe that the entire process of the architecture design life-cycle must be discussed.
AIM is about information right from the very early stages of designing, final stages,
construction and even during usage. As you can see in the figure; BIM is just a part
of this large process. Although an important part; there are many informational
needs that are missing in understanding architecture, if one were to focus ONLY on BIM.
The AIM Network is a group of
people: Professionals, researchers, teachers, students and others
involved in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) field
The AIM network aims to be a not-for-profit worldwide organization, discussing all the issues
and hopefully setting useful standards for the entire world of architecture.
ALL AEC professionals, teachers, students are welcome to join the forum
